Hi Roger,

My wife’s ggggrandmother was Julia Plamondon (b.Feb 1812, parents were Ignace P. and Josephe Houle) Julia married Joseph Jesmer (b. Jan 1809, son of Louis Laurant Duhaut dit Jasmin and Marie Magdeline Ducorp dit StMeddard) and moved to MN. Any more info on Ignace and Josephe?

Mark Wegge

Hi Mark,

Most of my data comes from The St Regis Mission near Massena N.Y. If you need more data regarding some of the people mentioned get back to me. Ignace (land surveyor/farmer) was the son of Ignace Plamondon and Marie Josephte Gauvin. He was born in Ancienne Lorette Que. on Sept 7 1774 and died in St Regis Que on May 23 1841. He married twice. His first marriage to Anastasie Guille (my lineage) was on July 20 1795 at St Francois du Lac Que. There were 5 children from that union. Ignace, Joseph, Antoine, Sophie Marguerite. His second marriage was to Josephte Houde/Houle on Jan 31 1804 at La Baie du Fevre Que.From that union came 7 children. Lucie, Leon, Narcisse, Edouard, Marie, Scholastique, Julie. Julie and Joseph Duhault dit Jasmin married on Jan 9 1832 at St Regis Que. I only have 2 children from that union . Joseph born Jan 5 1833 and Narcisse born May 25 1848.

If my info does not correspond with yours please get back to me and feel free to add any extra info that you think I may have missed

Thanks

Roger

Roger, This does get confusing, doesn’t it. My wife’s lineage shows up in 1860 NY/Franklin/Bombay census as:
Joseph Jesmer and Julie with children Elisabeth (b.1838), Rose (b. 1839), Adeline (b. 1844 – my wife’s line), Adolphus (b.1846), Nelson (b. 1848), Lalina/Salina (b. 1852), and Moses (b. 1854). I have not been able to track any death certs in MN to make sure that Julie was a Plamondon but pretty sure she was.
Some interesting names popped up in the 1880 MN/Mille Lacs/Greenbush census.
– Joseph Jesmer (b. 1832)m. Mary (I believe Robideau b.1836) and their family(maybe their son that you reference)
– Lewis Plumadown(sp. in census) b. 1845 m. Adaline b. 1857 and family
– 3 different Robideau families
– Adolphus Jesmer (b. 1846) m. Julia (b. 1848) and boarder Henry Mallett (b. 1861)(pretty sure this is their son)
– Nelson Lafontisee (b. 1842) m. Sarah (b. 1847)and family

I’ve seen some of these surnames in other messages so thought this might help. Mark Wegge

Mark,
Yes it does get confusing!! Here is more info. Joseph (father) was born Jan 23 1809 (I presume St Regis) and died Feb 2 1888 in Greenbush. Julie was born Feb 1812 (St Regis) and died Feb 14 1875 in Greenbush (I presume)
Re children I now have found Joseph,(born Jan 3 1833 probably
bapt Jan 5 1833) Elizabeth,Rose,Adeline,Adolphus,Julie and Narcisse (could this be Nelson??) born abt May 25 1848.
Have not encountered the names Robideau or Mallett in my line.
The name Maurice dit Lafontaisie is in my family line. By the way, the towns of Franklin and Bombay are very close to St Regis

Surnames: Plamondon, Jesmer, Robideau, Grow, DeShaw, Parisien, etc

My great grandmother was Marguerite Robideau, daughter of Peter Robideau and Julia Jesmer. Julia Jesmer was daughter of Joseph Jesmer and Julia Plamondon. I have much more information about all three of these families, plus more. I live in Minnesota and have been able to piece together quite a bit about all the members of thiese families who moved to Greenbush Twp, Mille Lacs Co, MN. I have posted the names of all the people in the Greenbush Cemetery (w/dates) on the ancestry.com Mille Lacs Co, MN page. You may find alot of your relatives here.
