Anne of Green Gables Musical at RDPC
School Plays: Anne of Green Gables in fall of 1980. The high school always had a yearly play. In 1981 it was Anne of Green Gables. It looks like the star of the show was Anne Marie McGinn. She was a perfect match for the play…not only because she was a great actress, but her name was Anne Marie and she had family roots from the east coast. I see Debbie Robertson was a main actress in the play too. I enjoyed watching the plays, but I never was a part of them. Looking back, I wish that had joined. I really missed out. I may have thought I couldn’t practice because of weekly work at the Co-op. Maybe I was afraid of singing. Maybe I felt I was too cool. (Oh well…my loss). I think I would have really enjoyed being in them. All of my kids joined the musicals in their high school. We enjoyed seeing them for eight years. My wife and I still go and see the musicals, but it is not the same when your own child is not performing. But I can be happy for others and celebrate their good work. Is there anyone out there who was part of this play or part of the orchestra or stage crew or prop designers?
