Devil’s Lake Wayside Park

2nd and 3rd Generation page

Devil’s Lake Wayside Park. There was some recent chatter on the site about Devil’s Lake. Our family would stop there regularly back and forth the Thompson to have picnic and rest. There was an old forest fire observation tower there once and the remnants of the tower, a buried bunker, was still there. You could climb down the ladder and see inside. I think it was used for storage. The lake had a notorious reputation of being filled with blood suckers and I never saw anyone swimming there. Have you? It was also known for garter snakes. Continuing the tradition, I stopped with my own family and my nephew at Devil’s Lake on a 2007 road trip to Thompson.  How far is Devil’s Lake from Thompson anyways?
