Driving to NW Ontario, from Chicago, at the end of February 2014

Driving to NW Ontario, from Chicago, at the end of February. Recently I made the trip Sioux Lookout ON, above the boundary waters. I drove it in my car, without winter radials. It was a white knuckle ride. I saw a semi in the ditch, a jack knifed semi and 5 cars in the ditch and many, many rescue vehicles. I was traveling on the heels of a monster storm. This gives you an idea what the drive involved. I came from Chicago, drove through Duluth MN, to International Falls MN and up through Dryden ON to Sioux Lookout. Most of the time I was driving 40 mph, not wanting to take my eyes off the road. Get ready for the ride of your life.
