John Martin Statland- My g-grandfather’s brother.
This page is dedicated to John Statland. He was the brother of my great grandfather, Ole Statland. They came from Norway. John Statland was the most prolific of the siblings with the most kids. He really contributed well to the continuation of this branch of the Statland family tree. My dad, (Ed “Ted” Jesmer), did lots of research on John because he has had some life long friendships with descendants of John Statland. He visits them whenever he visits his home town region. I hope that posting in this website may encourage a “Mikail (Micheal) Statland” family reunion one day.
The children of John and Mary Statland: Ida Sofia, Lena Matilda, Annie Madgalena, Elmer Orlander, Myrtle Josephine, Olive Petranila, John Martin Jr., Albert Magne, Bernie Clifford, Robert James “Bob”
Many of the children were single. Olive, Elmer, John Jr., Bernie and Albert were all single. Other things to note: Bernie died as a child. Albert also died young. Olive was mentally challenged. Lena was also married several times.
