What a blessing it was to get together as a church and serve international students with food and conversation. A good time was had by all.

I would like to express a big THANK YOU to everyone who came out last night to serve at the Network of Nations Intercultural Cafe at Immanuel Lutheran church. The crowd was estimated at about 100, which was not a bad showing given the rain and it being NIU Homecoming. I am especially thankful to those who came out as a family – I think there were at least 6 families representing from KBC. As one church family in the Lord, that brought my heart a special joy! And after engaging in some thoughtful conversations with a few students, I was surprised to turn around and find the whole room cleaned and reset without a word of direction needed. There was not a huge amount of leftovers either, and as usual, God matched up food supplied with eaters. One student showed up at 8:30pm while me and Sylvia were the only ones left, asking what time the cafe started and how he could get more involved. I gave him the small leftovers I had and proceeded to have a fun conversation with him. So… success all around!- Julie J.
