God brought all the animals that had breath to the ark, two by two and some were even seven by seven. They made the long migration to the ark in order to be saved. God was guiding these creatures. Through the ark the animals would be saved from the flood and be free to breed and repopulate the earth. We can accept that God led the animals to the ark for Noah. But the question begs to be asked, “How did Noah’s family take care of the animals?” I know how hard it is to take care of my two dogs and a cat. How did they do it, just the eight of them? We can take the easy route and just say, “God did it.” But how? Even if all the animals were babies and eggs, it would still be so difficult. Especially since Noah and his family were in the ark for over a year.
The movie dealt with this issue. When God brought the animals into the ark, Noah’s family walked between the animals sleeping quarters and dispensed a smoking sedative by the use of swinging censors. The animals were drugged into going to sleep and apparently could not get back up unless awoken by Noah. I have to hand it to the movie director. He did come up with some kind of answer for the managing of the animals. It was very imaginative. Personally I would have had more animals as babies and eggs. This would have been taking care of them a little easier.
