The INCO Slag Piles

The slag pit. When a person drove to T1 mine, they would drive right by the slag pile. They were huge hills of black grit, byproducts of nickel manufacturing. One company in 1981 or so, Northern Grit, tried to develop the slag into grit divided into certain sizes. I don’t think that company lasted. Did they use the slag in road building or construction? I think those slag hills will be there forever. Thanks Paul Souders for the pictures on the internet.
