The Problem With Judging The Church. By Kevin E. Jesmer 1-1-16

judging

The problem is that when it comes to judging something, it is so subjective. Some people are judging based on truth with the big picture in mind while in fellowship with the rest of the body of Christ. They need to be in tune with the word of God and have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. And of course we need to be humble. While others judge as they stand alone as an island, where they are their own standard. Judgment of the church is filled with our own legalisms and prejudices that usually go unchecked by our own isolation. It makes us feel good for a while for we are feeding our own self righteousness. We need to be very careful and make an extensive self assessment when we judge anything, especially in the church. Our lives can be very miserable, and lonely, if we are judging something while locked into our own isolation. We could hurt a lot of people in our quest to do God’s work for him. “Take the plank out of your own eye”.
