Thompson Pentecostal Assembly (TPA)

2nd and 3rd Generation page

**Thompson Pentecostal Assembly: **This church has been part of the Thompson Christian landscape since the 1960s. I believe one of its earliest pioneer pastors was Reverend Reinheimer and family who came from Red Lake Ontario. He was there in the earlier 60’s. Growing up, I never knew anything about the Pentecostal church. I was raised in the Catholic Church. Looking at the area around Goldeye, I can see so many places of worship all together. Thompson sure had a host of different houses of worship in the 70s and 80s, and they were situated so closely to each other, each vying for peoples’ allegiance. There must have been a large number of Christians in Thompson in the day. The Mennonite achieves had a picture of the first construction of the church. I found some pictures of earlier pastors. Judging from the hairstyles of the wives, I would say, 1980’s. John Barker did a lot of writing about the spiritual communities. Did you attend the TPA in the early days? Any pictures or stories? Do you know about its history?
