Water Skiing Club in Thompson

Haywood Design: When Dave Haywood was in high school there was a drafting competition open to students for a new water ski club planned to be built in his hometown of Thompson, MB. Dave’s design was chosen to be built, and it was! His first building built by his own design happened when he was only 16 years old! It was built on a sloping site as it descended into the Burntwood River. You’ll notice the sloping roof (yes, looks like a ski jump) but it was designed with the intent of installing a large skylight so the kids getting picked up after their events could wait in the building and see their parents arrive in the parking lot outside.
