You Can Be A Missionary Right From Where You Are

Kevin E. Jesmer                                                                                                  7-25-16

start from where you are

“You don’t have to move to a far off jungle to be a missionary.”  You can become involved in missionary work right now, right here. There are so many roles that Jesus will lead you into as you serve his kingdom purpose. For me it was this mission to serve as a networker. There are myriads of different types of roles to play. Do you know why?  It is because there are a myriad of different kinds of people at a myriad of different stages in life. God does not try to force a round peg into a square hole. He may lead you into difficult seasons of life, but it is all because of his good will and purpose on your life. I guess I am trying to say that he is not trying to force you to become something that you are not…or not ready for. In his perfect time and way he will lead you. You will be led along a unique path that you can love the Lord and your neighbor, cross culturally.  Jesus said in Mark 12:30-31, “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (ESV)

There is a way to serve in the mission, regardless if you go or if you stay. I could advise you to go out and find it. But from my own personal experience, God will bring it to you. It will find you out. Continue to seek first God’s kingdom and his righteousness (Matt 6:33). God is our Sovereign Lord. He is the shepherd of our souls. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Trust him as he leads your life and your family. Convergence is on its way.

Ephesians 2:10 reads, “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (ESV)
