Which Joseph Jesmer are you descended from? Eleven Joseph Jesmer (s) who migrated to Upper State New York in the 1800’s.

scratch your head

My roots in America began around 1814, when Joseph Jesmer and Julie Plamandon Jesmer moved across the St Lawrence River and started farming in Upper State New York in between Hogansburg and Bombay NY.  He brought his son, Joseph A. Jesmer who married Mary Ann Robideaux. Apparently there were at least 11 Joseph Jesmer’s who did the same thing. No wonder there are so many “Joseph’s” in our family history.  In this list, the “b” stands for born. This list was found on a link from Ancestry.com.  (There are also so many people with the middle name, Edward, in my branch. I suppose the most historically connected Jesmer male name for my branch would have to be Joseph Edward Jesmer.)
