Questions to ask about the Movie Noah. #6 How could they protect the ark from a violent and desperate humanity?

  1. How could they protect the ark from a violent and desperate humanity?

charging the ark

Even though the people of the world were rejecting the claims of Noah and thinking that the building of the Ark is foolish, there would come a time when the people would realize that the floods were coming just as Noah said. What would they do then? I would think that they would storm the Ark, trying to be saved. Think about the last flight out of Saigon. There were people racing to the helicopters. People were hanging on for dear life. It would be that way with the Ark, as military leaders would try to commandeer the Ark. How would Noah protect the Ark from the descendants of Cain? Maybe the flood came so quickly that they people couldn’t even try to take over the Ark. I think that God protected the Ark. In Genesis, in the town of Sodom, God struck the people who were trying to get at the angels, with blindness. God protected his people in many different, supernatural ways.

In the movie, the Watchers, the stone-imprisoned, fallen angels, fought the approaching hoards of desperate people. They crushed them, dozens at a time to keep them from storming the Ark. Even with all their valiant efforts they could not stop the king from hacking his way into the side of the Ark. But their valiant efforts tipped the scales enough to win their entry back into heaven, which supported the notion of salvation by works. (But that is the topic of another discussion.)

I would have had God blind the people, or scare the people or do something that is consistent with his ways in the Bible instead of having these huge creatures slug it out with a desperate army.
