Mystery Lake Hotel in Thompson

The Mystery Lake Hotel.

2nd and 3rd Generation Page

The Mystery Lake Hotel. This hotel was part of our family lore. After church we would go there for lunch and I fell in love with French onion soup. The crispy swiss cheese I would pick off and eat with my fingers. They would also host the community pancake breakfasts (held for Nickel Days) in their parking lot. It was just a nice place to take the family out for a lunch. It still looks like a very nice place to eat. There is a picture of the chef that made the French onion soup famous and a picture of the recipe too! I never stayed there overnight. I never had to. I lived in town…lol. Trappers Tavern was also near the hotel, around the back. Here are the pics and the recipe. The old pics are from around 1970.
