The Paswegin Cemetery Where My Grandparents, Harvey and Alice Jesmer Are.
This summer, (July 2018) I took a solo trip to see the boyhood home of my father. His first cousin, Howard Jesmer and his wife Gloria took me on a trip around the Quill Lake Rural municipality where it all happened. One of the places I saw was the graveyard where my grandparents, Harvey and Alice Jesmer are buried. Please note that Alice’s birthday is September 28. (not Sept 12).I never saw their final resting place before. It was a good experience being there. Some loose ends in my heart were connected to the whole. If that makes any sense. Here are the pictures of the cemetery. It is located a few miles out of Wadena Saskatchewan. Also note, that Magne Statland’s (Alice Jesmer’s brother) ashes are buried here without a grave marker. His ashes are interned at the grave site of one of his relatives here in the Paswegin Cemetery.
Other graves in the cemetery. There are some of my relatives and also the grave of my dad’s (Ted Jesmer) boyhood friend, Mark Turnbull.
