Class Trips to Winnipeg. These trips were always a blast. I went on trip to Winnipeg by bus, with my class.. I enjoyed spending twenty dollars at Long John Silver’s Arcade on Portage Avenue. I enjoyed making friends with our host schools. We were billeted in their house for this trip. We went to a student’s house after school and while we were playing pool in his basement, he tried to scare us off by waving a knife at us and running at us. We ran outside laughing. We loaded up on Mr Submarine sandwiches when we were drove home. When the bus broke down, we tried to sell portions of the subs at exorbitant prices to kids who were getting hungrier and hungrier. Does anyone have fond memories of class trips to Winnipeg? Can you recognize these grade 6 students from Juniper School in 1976?
