Power Toboggan Club
Found my mom’s snowmobile badges. My dad, Ted Smith, was involved in many different positions and my mom, Barbara, was treasurer at one point for the Thompson snowmobile club. The club was formed in 1969. We had an awesome track with a clubhouse/canteen. It was roughly 5 miles from town and if you look hard you can see the oval track in the bushes still today. I can remember running free around the parking lot as everyone watched out for us. Lots of families were members, some were the Don & Ruby Bain and family Ray & Ingrid Conway and family, Bob & Pat Powell, Walter & Betty Klym, Ed Bolig, Frank Montieth, Bob & Marg Currie, Sapach family, Milt & Ollie Koutecky and family, Grandbois family, just a few off the top. I probably forgot lots and I’m sure someone will add them. –
